He went from the biggest dick to her biggest supporter…
Jim Parsons on Saturday Night Live, 1st March 2014.
Jim during Ellen sketch on SNL
Jim on SNL as Johnny Wier and all my dreams came true on a cold March night.
I read a pretty harsh critique out there from a critic, not even a top critic saying it was the worst in 4 years whatever… but I thought the show was entertaining, sure it wasn’t the best and that last skit I will admit was not great. But overall I think our boy Jim did good. I was very happy to…
My thoughts weren’t all together there last night, but I think the writing was really meh last night. The cast did well but the material isn’t there. What I don’t appreciate now is the slew of people scape goating again… but I’m not gonna waste any more time on that. All in all Jim did good for his first time hosting and the writing wasn’t all there, I believe there are changes going behind the camera that we’re not seeing and it was one of those guinea pig episodes. Done.

But overall I think our boy Jim did good. I was very happy to see him outside of TBBT. One thing I think this critic failed to realize how scary it could be for a first time host. Can you imagine how nervous you’d be if you got asked to host a SNL an iconic tv so huge, Lorne Michaels basically owns NBC, producing more stars than any other network. That’s a lot of pressure, something children dream about. Jim who hasn’t really done anything like this before. And like his opening monologue was saying, I really think it was the first time for him to show the vast public he is more than our beloved Sheldon Cooper.
It was also Colin Jost first time away from the writers room and in front of a camera. That’s a whole different beast and to follow Seth Meyers. FACT, People don’t like change at least they had Cecily there from the beginning of the season to help transition her. This man jumped in midseason and as a first time co anchor good job, homie.
Also something I’ve noticed this season was the first half they heavily relied on the seasoned actors on SNL, Taran was basically in every skit but for the first time this season I actually saw that SNL hunk Brookes? Brook? in more than one skit, really it was a time for the new comers to shine this episode.
To say it was the worst episode now that’s a harsh exaggeration I’m not coming at this as a fan of just Jim I’m coming from a fan of SNL. SNL is evolving so don’t rule it out as the worst, muggle, embrace the change.
Two more hours until Jim Parsons walks through this door! We hope he knows he doesn’t need to knock.
